Frequently Asked Questions

How do I go about bringing an event to Las Cruces?
The first step in bringing an event to Las Cruces is to contact the Me, Ed Carnathan, the Visit Las Cruces Sports Sales Manager at 575-541-2216 or ecarnthan@las-cruces.org

Who handles the bid process for bringing an event?
The bid process is usually a joint effort between the Visit Las Cruces and the sponsoring league or organization.  Sometimes a local group is not needed to bid on events.

Do you arrange site visits of facilities, venues, and hotels?
Yes.

What services does the Visit Las Cruces provide to event rights holders?
Visit Las Cruces provides services beginning with bidding for events. Once an event is secured, we will work with local hotels to arrange hotel accommodations and negotiated rates, arranging hotel rebates for the event holder, event feedback in the form of tracking/surveys, coaches bags, and numerous other things.

What facilities are available that can host my event?
Las Cruces has a broad range of facilities and venues.  You can request a Sports Information Guide by e-mailing me at ecarnthan@las-cruces.org

Can Las Cruces support a national event?
Absolutely! We have hosted national events through organizations such as the NCAA, Western Athletic Conference, ASA Softball, USSSA Softball, United States Arm-wrestling Association and others.

Do you work with events that are primarily local in nature?
Not usually.  If the tournament or event draws a majority of participants and spectators from the Las Cruces area (Las Cruces, El Paso, Alamogordo, Deming) then the Las Cruces CVB will not, in all likelihood, be able to provide significant assistance.  Our mission is to attract events to Las Cruces that will bring visitors outside those places to our area.  We will work with those events to help make them successful.

Where can I see a list of sports events coming to Las Cruces?
You can check out the Las Cruces CVB Sports and Convention Calendar.
