Lucha Libre Photography Exhibit & Downtown Ramble – June 7 – July 26
Calling all art lovers! Lucha Libre is a term used in Mexico for freestyle wrestling. It is characterized by colorful masks and high-flying moves. Jerry Villagrana has been a fan since childhood and has created this collection of images from various areas throughout Mexico. His work has been featured in many media internationally. Stop by and see this stunning exhibit.

Amador LIVE Country Night – June 8
Live entertainment at Amador LIVE, a new downtown Las Cruces destination. Stop by for a free concert featuring Frankie Ray with Special Guest Frequenza. Three great restaurant choices in this re-constructed city block and a whole lot of fun at this event courtyard.

El Sombrero Taco Eating Contest – June 11
What would you do with a year’s supply of El Sombrero tacos, a cash prize and trophy, and bragging rights? Think you can be the Taco King (or Queen) of Las Cruces? Join the ultimate Taco Tuesday event at the Second Annual El Sombrero Patio Cafe Taco Eating Contest. This great family event features vendors, food trucks, and a beer tent and chances to win lots of door prizes. Entertainment includes music, a Luchador wrestler demonstration and Ballet Folklorico. Come on by! This event is free and the contest is free to enter.

Metalachi – June 14
Your chance to see one of the “greatest metal bands to ever live.” Coming from Mexico to build a better life Consuela Espinosa followed a long and complicated road to make her way into Rock and Roll history. Concessions served including snacks, beer, wine, and spirits.

Raft the Rio – Pirates of the RioGrande – June 15
“Whatever makes your boat float! “ You‘ll see all kinds of floating devices at this fun 3-mile rafting adventure. Take on the challenge of creating a raft or kayak from any kinds of materials. Take home a prize for the best use of the theme, ”Pirates of the Rio Grande.” The event is open to individuals and teams of all ages as long as you don’t mind getting wet!

Spaceport America Cup – June 18-22
It is Rocket Science!
Join in the third annual Spaceport America Cup. The Cup is designed around the Intercollegiate Rocket Engineering Competition for student rocketry teams. Over 120 teams from American and International Colleges and Universities will participate, representing fourteen countries. Watch as students launch solid, liquid and hybrid rockets to altitudes up to 30,000 feet.

Movies and Moves in the Park – Saturday and Sunday evenings -June through August
Nothing says summer like music and movies in the open air.
Bring the family and enjoy family-friendly movies all summer long. Screenings are at dusk every Saturday night. And keep the fun going as you enjoy the diversity of our musical artists in the Music in the Park Series every Sunday at 7 pm.

White Sands Full Moon Hikes – June 16
What could be more magical than hiking the dunes under the glow of the full moon? Relish in the peace and serenity of this wonderful environment and experience what the local wildlife see and hear at night. A ranger will guide you and you’ll see firsthand how animals survive in the dunes.
