Rock ‘n’ Roll History

Take a rock, roll and a hop back in time at the Rio Grande Theatre! On Saturday, June 3, enjoy New Mexico Rock ‘n’ Roll History with American Bandstand and “Sugar Shack” as told by local author Stan Blitz. Joining Blitz is New Mexico’s historic Fireballs founder, George Tomsco, about the Fireballs’ #1 hit and 1.5 million seller, “Sugar Shack.”

Made in New Mexico

Santa Fe based writer and New Mexico film historian Jeff Berg returns to the New Mexico Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum this Thursday, June 8! Join Berg as he presents a new version of his “Made in New Mexico” film clip anthology, compiling clips from movies that in some way feature people who were born in New Mexico or have lived here or live here now. Clips contain stars like Vivian Vance, Greer Garson, John Denver, and author Max Evans. Each clip is followed by a live narration, offering tidbits about the star, and more. Audience participation is strongly encouraged.

Under the Full Moon

White Sands National Monument has great summer fun this June!
On Friday, June 9, Full Moon Night features the 1st Armored Division Band, Iron Outlaws. This country band will get your boots tapping with classic favorites and current hits.

It’s a Whole New World

The Doña Ana Arts Council is proud to continue its tradition of bringing Missoula Children’s Theatre to Las Cruces with their production of Aladdin. Tryouts will be held on Monday, June 26 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Rio Grande Theatre for students entering 1st – 12th grades; rehearsals for those chosen will be 10:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. daily that week. Don’t miss the culminating performance of Aladdin of the Missoula Children’s Theatre camp on Friday, June 30! See these talented kids in action at 7:00 p.m.
