Follow these tips to stay safe while enjoying the great outdoors!
Water: hydrate before you go and take plenty of water with you.
Plan: learn the trail, check the weather, print or download maps as you may lose cell service.
Don’t go alone: if you do, tell someone where you are going and when you will be back.
Stay Cool: plan activities for cooler times of the day; avoid strenuous activity during extreme heat.
Clothing: wear breathable, loose-fitting clothing that will fully cover you and protect from the sun and hiking shoes or boots to protect from surface heat and injury.
