In conjunction with its March Women’s History Month exhibit, “Unfinished Business: Women’s Power of Persistence,” the Doña Ana Arts Council has partnered with NMCO Studio and Success Partnership to recognize the honorees of the two organization’s
project, “Desert Heroines – Women Who Tell Our Stories.”
“Desert Heroines” is a photo project by NMCO Studio and Success Partnership to honor and showcase women in Doña Ana County who are making moves, creating legacies, and uplifting the community around them. Each year the heroines project asks the public to
nominate women who are making a difference in their communities. Five women are then selected to take part in a one-of-a-kind photoshoot.
A reception for the honorees, whose names will be announced on March 8, will be held March 11th, from 2PM-5PM, during the Council’s Second Saturday opening at 230 S. Water Street. The photographs of these phenomenal “Desert Heroines” by NMCO
Studio are on display at the Doña Ana Arts Council’s Staszewski Gallery.
The DAAC supports and promotes the arts, both as a part of a thriving creative economy and as a source of community pride. For information about collaboration, sponsorship, and volunteer opportunities, please contact Executive Director, Araceli Solis, at
