Friday, February 24

7:00 pm – Play, THE TRIAL OF BILLY THE KID, directed by Ross Marks. The trial of Billy the Kid accused of murdering Lincoln County Sheriff William Brady took place on April 6, 1881. The setting was the Dona Ana County Courthouse in Mesilla.

The killing of Sheriff Brady took place on the main street of Lincoln, New Mexico. The case was transferred from Lincoln to Mesilla on a change of venue. Sheriff Brady was killed during the Lincoln County War, a violent conflict that lasted almost two years. Was the killing justified? You decide after seeing the trial.
