Mesilla Valley Musical Arts Presents Enchanted Afternoon
LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and Romance is in the air! Join Mesilla Valley Musical Arts for an Enchanted Afternoon of romantic music from the Romantic era. Beginning in 1850 and lasting seven decades, the Romantic era was a period of artistic freedom, experimentation and creativity, marked by expressive melodies, new harmonies and tonal relationships–in a word: colorful. Celebrate this musical movement the way it was meant to be experienced, through fanciful selections by Chopin, Mendelssohn, Schubert and Schumann played intimately by featured artists Georgina Lavery, Stephanie Robinson, Nadia Russell and Barbara Toth. Enchanted Afternoon will fill the air with romantic music at St. Patrick’s Anglican Church on February 12, 2012.
Mesilla Valley Musical Arts is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a variety of high-quality musical performances to the community, particularly the under-served, and making innovative music education options available in Las Cruces and beyond. St. Patrick’s Anglican Church is located 151 South Solano, in Las Cruces. Showtime is 3pm and light refreshments will be served. Tickets are $15 and can be reserved by calling (575) 523-7714.
